Yusufi Masala, a name that tells a story of heritage, enterprise and passion. The story of a man, Haji Mohammed Yusuf Ali, who founded Yusufi Masala that’s one of the most respected names today. A few furlongs behind our ancestral house there was a pond, called Khawaja Pond, the water used to collect during the rainy season, from which a lot of grass grew. For the crop to grow, the grass is removed by running a hoe (Nagarkunti), due to which its roots come out, which are full of fragrance and the fragrance spreads in the nearby areas, as in Urdu it is called Nagarmotha- The creative minds of our forefathers decided to take advantage of this herb and to increase their productivity, they created a hair and body Masala by adding a few more herbs to it and in today’s history, 17 precious herbs became Yusufi Masala. Mr. Haji Mohammed Yusuf Ali acknowledged his forefathers’ process of making herbal bathing powder and named it “Yusufi Masala” since then “Yusufi” became our family surname.
